Boleyn Art was founded by Rachel Boleyn in 2019.

Rachel designs and creates unique fused glass jewellery at her home studio in York. She is self taught and initially started making fused glass using a microwave kiln. 

Rachel says: “The microwave kiln is a very affordable way of trying out glass fusing and I am constantly surprised by the results I can get using such a small and modest piece of equipment. 

“I particularly enjoy casting glass in moulds that I have made myself. I use powdered or crushed glass (or frit) in the moulds, trying out different colour and texture combinations.

“Every piece is unique and although I may make a limited amount of similar pieces, no one piece is ever exactly the same!”

Having upgraded her equipment and invested in a larger glass kiln, Rachel is now experimenting and working on larger glass pieces. 

Rachel lives in York with her young son and their two cats.
